Welcome!
This is intended to serve as a resource for those interested in Lost and the Damned type forces in the Warhammer 40K universe. Cults, traitor guard, mutant warbands, Chaos Marine auxiliaries, etc.
The initial list is quite incomplete. I would like to eventually include everything that Games Workshop and Black Library have published about them, from novels, short stories, audio dramas, rulebooks, White Dwarf, etc. If you know of something relevant that isn't already listed, please contact me through my profile on the right side of the page and let me know!
Currently the format is Faction Name (when known, often these forces are just referred to as generic traitors, heretics or cultists), Appear in (what story, issue #, etc. do they show up in?), Author(s), Associated with (is there a clear connection to a particular Chaos God, or ties to particular Chaos Marines?) and Details/significant opposition (Anything that makes them stand out? Who are the principal/most well known opposition?).
I've included non-Chaos related revolts as well, and ones where it's not clear if Chaos is involved or not. A lot of these will appear as "X uprising" "Y rebels" etc.
I have deliberately not included rebellions that are known to be Genestealer Cult related such as that on Ichar IV.
Chaos-worshipping Xeno have been included.
There are two Plagues of Unbelief, one during the Age of Apostasy and the other during the 13th Black Crusade. Unless noted, when the Plague of Unbelief is mentioned it is the second one, with zombies and such that is being referenced.
