More Mogambians, RPG figs
Hobby progress has been a bit slow lately with many distractions, but I have made some progress. To the left is one of the characters in my D&D campaign, Septimus Owlshade. Despite the big book he's holding the character is actually a Sorcerer, not a Wizard. Soon he will be facing his personal demon; his possessed brother. Reaper figure.

Tank Farm
I did some spraying and basing of the tank farm terrain pieces I got a few months ago and also sprayed a few plastic packaging containers while I was at it. The top three pieces with the tanks & tubes will stay at home, but the other two may make their way into the bins at the local Hobbytown. A little bit of paint and some flock can go a long way to making random shapes look like a terrain piece.
(The one on the right is a battery pack, the one on the left is from a balloon-pump toy for my son. I'm also looking at the package a monster truck came in and grabbed some boxes at Costco the other day...more terrain may be coming soon.)

Carnage! Or something close. Four-way Batrep 1000pts
At Hobbytown there were four of us who were ready to game, and rather than pair off we decided to be foolish and go for a free-for-all game. I remembered some of the basics for the old Carnage mission so we went with that. 1000pts each, my Scythiak vs. Tau vs. Necrons vs. Squats (running as Dark Angels). One central objective, and the army with the closest unengaged model to the center at the end of the game wins.

Mogambians and other RPG figs
Some more figs for RPGs, continuing to scratch that itch instead of the Space Sharks at the moment. On the right is a figure for the D&D game I run, a shaman type with ceremonial mask from Mogambia. I painted him as an albino in tribute to one of the early bad guys from the Imaro stories. He'll probably be one of the main bad guys, or perhaps one of the tribes will have a high incidence of albinism that they consider blessed.

Battle Report: Orks vs. Orks!
At the local Hobbytown today Rob and I were the first ones there, so we staked out a 4x6 and threw our respective Orks up against each other in an 1850pt battle, Annihilation/Dawn of War. I went second, and here's my deployment, just a large shoota boy mob, with the rest off the table, Grots in Reserve, Kommandos Outflanking, and everything else rolling on Turn 1.
Space Sharks...are not in this post
With the hobby time I've had available, I wasn't really in the mood to work on the Space Sharks. During some recent RPG sessions, I did get an itch to work on some of the backlog of Reaper, etc. figures I've been acquiring, and following my own advice to work on what you're in the mood for I did up figures for one of our groups.
To the left here is my character, Christina, a cleric of Pelor, the stock D&D sun god. I painted this fig a long time ago, but did a few touch ups and changes, notably altering her tabard to coordinate with another member's figure (below).

Battle Report: Minotaurs and Treants and Elves? Are you sure this is 40K? Scythiak vs. Tree-anids
Tuesday I played a game vs. Aaron and his "Living World" army. He started making an army out of sprue bits and foliage, making an army of tree-folk, using the Tyranid rules. At this stage he also subs in some other models while he makes more woodlings.
I broke out the Scythiak to go clear-cut him and we played 1000pts, Annihilation/Spearhead. Aaron's bud Owen graciously set up the terrain for us and we went to it!

Army Profile - The Scythiak Usurpation
I always liked the Lost and the Damned army from the old Eye of Terror campaign book, and really like the different Chaos cults and various renegades that show up in the background. After redoing my loyalist Imperial Guard into a very straightforward force, I knew that I wanted to also make a force that represented the other side - not only serving Chaos instead of the Imperium, but also including elements not present in the Merkans - abhumans, psykers, etc.
