Scythiak Usurpation - bases update part 2

Some more warm weather let me seal up the Scyhtiak that are done so far, and I also added some bits and bobs to the more open bases, the Spawn Riders and the Heavy Bolter squad.

Scythiak Usurpation - bases update

The weather has gotten colder again so I didn't get to seal them yet, but here's some pics of the Scythiak techno-barbarian contingent (and some friends) that are pretty much done.

Also only a little over one day left for the Tau army auction!  Check it out if you're looking for a completed Tau army that's different from most everyday Tau forces.

NZ quake

tv.co.nz

Just a quick note to send good wishes to my NZ friends and any other readers affected by the recent earthquake in Christchurch.  Second one in five months, and though this one wasn't as powerful as the one in September, by all accounts there's been much more destruction this time around.

I know those in the area have more pressing things to do other than check out gaming blogs, but condolences to those who've lost loved ones and godspeed to those digging others out.

Status Report

http://www.klocwork.com/

Just a mish mash of some updates of where I'm at in various things.

The Tau Grand Alliance is up on ebay, go bid if interested.  I also have some excess metal Catachans up that didn't get used as part of the Scythiak that I found while digging up Hyperbowl prizes.

We've gotten a few bites over at the Codex Project for an updated Lost and the Damned army list project; come check it out and join up if interested.

With warm weather, I broke out my airbrush and ran it through some testing, found out lots of stuff that doesn't work.  Now that I've done my initial fiddling and experiments I can go RTFM and check out tutorials and videos and such.  I'm glad all that stuff is out there, but I like having had a little hands-on experience first to have a frame of reference to really understand what they're talking about!

I also painted (by hand) the bases for the completed techno-barbarian part of the Scythiak but didn't have time to finish flocking and such, but should in the next few days, so keep an eye out for some actually fully completed Scythiak figs.

Hope you're all doing well, and will catch up in a few days!

Want Some Tau? Tau Grand Alliance up for sale

I've been thinking of selling this army off on ebay, but wanted to post 'em up here first to see if any of the Discriminating Readers were interested.

The Codex Project: Lost and the Damned - Contributors welcome!

You may have heard about The Codex Project elsewhere, like on Big Jim's Galaxy in Flames or on various podcasts.  In short it's an attempt to organize fan made rules from around the world, help tighten them up, test them, and give them support.  The idea is that you should have some confidence in TCP Approved end results; that they won't be the kind of overpowered unbalanced stuff that fandexes are often felt to produce; so you should feel more comfortable with using them in your own group or playing against them.  Tired of playing the same old armies?  The TCP may (eventually) be the cure for that.

I've started poking around there, and seeing that no one had started up Lost and the Damned, I decided to give it a try.  I've laid out my basic vision (subject to massive change) of how I'd like the project to develop, but need and would like help from other LatD enthusiasts to make this a really great product.

If interested, come check out The Codex Project, poke around and see if you'd like to be involved, then pop to the forums and under Codex Ideas you'll find the initial Lost and the Damned thread.  I look forward to seeing you there!

HyperBowl Prizes Away!

The Hyperbowl prize packages have been turned over to local postal authorities for transshipment to waiting Rogue Traders.  Winners in the North American Segmentum should get theirs in a few days; those in Wales and Australia likely a bit longer.

And thanks to the 11th Company for the contest shoutout, even if it came after the contest ended.  Just happened to be in the middle of some local scrambling on their end to get last week's 'cast up. Hopefully folks will still get to enjoy the other entries.
